The Story
After months of scouring the streets of Soho for a harness shaped necklace to wear with her bikini in the summer of 2005, then Fashion Publicist, Michelle Pizzurro discovered the New York boutiques were completely void of tasteful body jewelry. Determined to flaunt what she thought was the “coolest idea ever” she began learning the artful craft of metal sculpture. After selling a few pieces, her clients of models, friends and stylists unwittingly provided her body chain collection's moniker, “Never Take Off”, because they did just that.
The practice continued as a hobby until 2010, when Michelle opened up shop on the grass-roots site Etsy. As appeal and sales grew so did the self-taught artists creativity and craft.
Today, NTO Design has expanded to earrings, bracelets, necklaces and more—all finished with a one-of-kind patina only handmade jewelry can offer.
